Also, consider the wire diameter when choosing a sieve, as it affects the accuracy and durability of the sieve. Remember that each material has an ideal mesh size for best results. For coarse aggregates such as gravel, you will need a sieve size ranging from 75 mm (3 inches) (for larger stones) to No. 4 (4.75 mm) or even finer than No. 200 (0.075 mm), depending on the specification. For cement, which has a much smaller particle size, you will need a smaller sieve with mesh as fine as No. 325 (0.045 mm) or even smaller.
How to check soil sieve size?
Whether in a sieving machine or in manual sieving techniques, sieves are subjected to heavy use. Sample loads can cause the woven wire mesh to deform, and wear can cause the wire mesh diameter to decrease, which can expand the opening beyond acceptable limits. There are other options for continually verifying the accuracy and consistency of sieves:

② Master matching sieves are first inspected to inspection grade requirements and then compared by performance testing
③ Standard reference materials are precisely sized powders or glass beads used to test the performance of sieves and calculate the effective opening size
④ Sieve inspection tools can be used to directly measure the mesh size of the sieve openings and carefully inspect for damage.
