Reading instructions: Soil Sieve in this article is mostly used for the analysis of laboratory soil samples.
Soil Sieve is a standard sieve for soil sample analysis in the laboratory. It is usually used with an experimental sieve machine to detect the particle size distribution of soil samples. In common cases, Soil Sieve has different types of sieve surfaces and mesh shapes to choose from, so as to effectively analyze soil samples in different situations.
Mesh type of Soil Sieve:
1. Perforated plate screen
It is used to deal with bulky soil. The sieve hole is formed by machine punching. The edge of the mesh is flat and the opening is even. It can withstand the pressure from the bulky soil without causing mesh damage.
The mesh type of perforated plate screen is usually round or square, and the mesh size is from 0.2mm to several hundred mm.
2. Woven wire mesh
Metal wire woven mesh has low cost and good flexibility, but relatively low precision (large mesh holes are allowed), and the mesh may be deformed. The mesh precision can be controlled by expanding and shrinking holes, and electrochemical methods can also be used. The hole is fixed. The mesh size is from 2.36mm to 0.02mm.

Type | Wire mesh test sieve | Metal porous plate test sieve | Electroforming test sieve | φ75 test sieve | φ200 standard pharmacopoeia sieve | φ200/300 standard soil sieve |
Features | The mesh shape is square, light and durable | Mostly square or round. Materials with large surface impact and irregular shape | The highest accuracy (can reach one micron), only used in some high-precision laboratories | Used for the inspection of particle size distribution of superhard materials | Mainly used for screening and testing in the pharmaceutical and medical fields | Mainly used for analyzing the particle size distribution of soil, commonly used diameter is 200mm or 300mm |
Electroforming sieve
Produced by electrochemical method, with the highest accuracy (can reach one micron), but the cost is high, and it is only used in some high-precision laboratories. The diameter of the electroformed sieve is 75 mm and 200 mm, and the mesh size is about 5um~500um. The implementation standard is GB/T6003.3-1999 (equivalent to ISO3310.3)
Classification according to mesh shape and size
Square hole sieve: The mesh has square holes and high screening accuracy. It is often used for screening fine-grained soil and is suitable for separating soil with regular particle shapes, such as laboratory soil analysis and particle classification.
Circular hole sieve: The mesh has circular holes and is suitable for separating spherical or nearly spherical particles. It has high screening efficiency and is often used for screening coarse-grained soil and is suitable for preliminary screening of soil particles.
Standard sieve: A sieve that meets national or international standards, has a specific mesh size, and is used for experiments such as soil particle analysis.
